Major Raguet, the son of Nacogdoches merchant Henry Raguet, was about thirty-five years old when he was killed during the New Mexico Campaign. He was shot in the leg at the Battle of Valverde, and killed while commanding the 4th Texas at the Battle of Glorieta Pass. His grave, pictured here, is located in Nacogdoches, Texas.
